Sounds like a good deal. Glad I could help. I hope you don't regret not getting the 3.73's now. I think you'll be happy, but if not I'm sure you could always get your money back outta the 3.42 & aluminum d.s. and still do the gear swap. In fact you could run on it while building your old rear if you decide to spend money on it. Which reminds me about the other good part about swapping the whole rearend: NO downtime.

The 93 with the 700r4 is going to need a box for correcting the speedo. I just did my gears and mine is 10mph off. As far as the aluminum driveshaft, i just tried that too. The tailshaft of the 700 is 1.5-2 inches shorter (closer to 2) than the 4l60e. Which means the DS didn't quite seat all the way in. So i chose not to install it. I didn't think it would hold up going to the track...with moderate abuse.

I'm pretty sure the ds will fit fine.
I don't know how to correct for the speedo....never had a 93 to need to research it. I think it was discussed some earlier in this thread. I know you can't just correct it in the tune like 94+.

I guess it's called a Dakota digital box.

$85 isn't horrible.
My other option would be to change the gears in my transmission. I have yet to see what the cost is on that.
