4l60e tranny help!!!
Telling us who it is might help us tell you if it is worth trying to fix or if you should just suck it up, learn your lesson and move on.
There are a lot of bad builders out there and a lot of them put their effort into marketing rather than a quality product and from what I see that is just the sort of builder that would catch your eye.
Since you said it just free revs when it tries to shift I think that means a hardpart is broken. Electrical faults and failures can cause lack of shifting but I am fairly sure that it just stays in a gear doesn't shift and freewheel.

It does NOT need a bunch of fancy parts, people like to believe the 4-pinion planetary was some big deal but the 4-pinion were forged and NOT a problem area and the 5-pinion are powdered metal meaning CHEAPER TO MAKE than forged. They work just fine and if you need a planetary set fine but realistically a good condition 4-pinion planetary is just fine, there were some issues in the 80s but that predates these cars.
Kevlar is pretty much a bad word for a street/strip build.
"Blocked accumulation" is a huge red flag.
If they say anything about "upgrading to the Vette" servo another flag as it was stock on all LT1 vehicles.

Is your taxi still 16 different colors?
I have been through all the popular names that sell transmissions on different sites. Most do put in all the parts they say they are....but the parts are not always top notch parts. Anyone can dump parts in a case and tell you how easy it is. Very few can tell you how they all work
I just got done building and installing a 4L60E into a 93 Z71. Just drove it about an hour ago. Its got a lot of goodies in it...
