I now see both units which are the "GM" part #'s for their respective years. The description notes "black" as color of the cap. I have a "Delphi" unit which has this black cap vs the OEM yellow/orange color.
price is very good for what appears to be "new" GM Opti
again apologies for posting incorrect info.

If u missed the sale there is a company in eBay that sells true Delphi optis for around 350 shipped .. This sale 300 plus 13 in handling fees isn't far off .. Good sale just saying for those who miss it .

What does NOS unit mean? Nitrous? If so, that doesn't make sense to me.
I wonder how many of these things they have in stock. I'm tempted to buy one just to have one, but my credit card bill is already huge this month.
Were these things listed at 299 at the time of the original post, or have they gone up? For some reason I thought they were 199.

I don't even need an opti, but I just broke down and bought one. I asked the guy if these were AC Delco branded, and he said they were GM Performance. I told him there were rumors that the Delco stuff was now remanufactured. Weren't the OEM units AC/Delco? The guy at Summit said they also carried AC/Delco and that they were "new" units, and cost $530.

The web-site still shows them available but are they significantly better than the Summit or Accel distributors that are also new and still cost less? Is it just because of them being the good "GM Performance" brand or are there other reasons?

Aftermarket brands have proven to be nowhere near as reliable. There are probably a number of reasons, but the Mitsubishi optical sensor in the OEM units might be the biggest.

I also believe the Accel units utilize a bushing in the drive assembly as opposed to a sealed bearing.
