attention!!!
i recieved my opti opened it up to add the loctite to the rotor screws.. the two screws that hold the rotor down where completely missing.
Summit was really good about it and told me they can give me 5 bucks or return the whole thing for a new one.. I have some screws here so i just told them to give me the 5 bucks and told me it would not void the warranty. Unless I'm tripping and this gm is different and doesn't suppose to have the screws?

Yep the Delphi is a good unit and the optical sensor looks identical to the factory one. I just put a new one on my cousins 97 a month ago and unfortunately Summit was out and so was Jegs (of the factory good priced ones) so it was either 500$ for the AC Delco one or From Summit I bought the Delco peice for 340$.

Everyone will bash for saying this, but I've had good luck with the NEW (Not rebuilt) Cardone optispark from the local AZ for about $220 with cap/rotor/lifetime warranty. Currently got one on each of my 2 LT1's and have had no issues with them. I put red Loctite on the rotor screws and did some extra sealing on the cap for good insurance. Guess I've just had good opti luck in general as I've only had one go bad ever and it was a 130k mile unit that got soaked. The only reason the opti on my other car got swapped was a bad cap and I already had the Cardone unit sitting there in the box for a future project.
I wouldn't recommend the rebuilt one as I've seen a lot of problems from them.
