Default Help with Cam recommendation

I havea 94 Z with a stock bottom end A4 LT1, with the following mods:
AFR LT1 heads
Hooker LT headers
ORY pipe
BBK Throttle body
K/N filter
SLP 2500 stall TC
3.73 rear gear
1.5 Roller rockers
TPIS ZZ9 cam

We were by TPIS that this combo should be good for 425 fwhp.

The 1/4 mile times have been dissapointing, in the 13.1 @ 104 mph range.

Had the car dyno tuned yesterday, 312 rwhp/336rwtq is the best they could coax out. Figuring 15% drivetrain loss, thats about 360 fwhp. Which is 75 hp short of the potential.

The TPIS ZZ9 cam is 212/226 and .483/.520 compared to:

Hot Cam 218/228 and .525/.525

CC 305 220/230 and .510/.510

Is the ZZ9 cam too small?

Any other ideas on wht to look for to bring the power up to the mod potential?

with AFRs, you've simply got to get the valves open higher and longer to take advantage of them. Go Comp 306 or GM 847 with some 1.6 rockers... otherwise you would have been better off just putting on stock unported LT4 heads.

You need to step up to a big dog cam to make some serious power. The hot cam and the cc 305 are ok. But you would be better off getting one that is matched to your head specs.

Is the stock LT1 intake a restriction? Should it be ported or relieved for the power levels I am after ?

What about the stock 24# injectors? Big enough for 424 -450 hp?

Witout an AFPR you will need to upgrade your fuel injectors to at least 30#'ers. I would recommend doing it even if you have an AFPR.
