I'm having my trans rebuilt. and I was wondering what's a good torque converter as in brand. And what stall speed should I get. And what's a good shift kit to go with..,? Mods are a hot cam milled heads 58mm thorattle body mid pipes stainless headers and 1.6 rockers and k&n cai borla exhaust no cat and a cut out and the dyno numbers was 302 rwhp and 310 torque

Well with no mention of current mods, use of car, and dyno numbers it isn't easy to say. However usually one tries to pick a torque converter that stalls near the max torque output of the engine.

Your numbers seem low for being cammed. My car with boltons and hotcammed dynoed in a bit over 350rwhp. Since has had head work and ls1 lid conversion.

The modified Transgo kit from ProBuilt Automatics and the Yank SS 3600 converter.

Yank, vig, edge, circle d are all great convertors. Id run atleast a 3200 stall. I ran a 3800 on my bolton car and loved it. Also what gear are you running?

Id go with a 3800 stall. You will love it. The car will wake up aton. Hope ya got some sticky tires. 300rwph is not bad for auto and baby cam.

I would probably look into why your car has such low numbers before pouring money into anything else. Maybe the dyno had something wrong that day but many LT1s have higher numbers than that with just bolt ons.

I would go with edge. They are around $500. The numbers are little low but i wouldnt worry bout it. Dynos are for tuning. Every dyno is different. So comparing numbers is hard. Take it to the track. Thats the real dyno. Just wondering what springs are you running and what rpm did the car peak at?

I agree with the Edge and Yank suggestions. Of all the popular brand converters I've used in various vehicles over the years, Yank has usually been best, and Edge has been best value in the less severe applications.
With a Yank, I'd go with the SS3600 on a mild setup like yours. With Edge, I'd limit to 3200 or 3400; they tend to drive looser and flash higher than their rated number.

As far as springs go I have no idea cause I bought the car with all the work in it. And it was peaking right around 5900-6000 rpm. They took it up to 6500 rpm on the dyno
