with a cam and a good set of ported heads, yes it is worth it.... but doing suspension and such and thinking your low on money and port and polish will be a good finish your wrong.... a good healthy 4k budget to do mods like that, can be done for cheaper but counting all the gasket that get replaced, **** that you find broken and such needing replacemtn just adds up..... search the threads, i know there is a ton of threads started for a head and such.....

I'm doing a my lt1 right now and I'm doing a 503cc cam and port and polish on everything. If your wanting something simple find a 305 cam and do a port and polish to heads. If you know someone that can tune is the best thing to think about. If you do all that on a stock tune then it's pointless. Overall what do you plan on doing with the car. Keep it mostly street and race weekends. Or want an *** kicker?

For a mostly street car id just do a nice custom cam from ai or le. Get ya some good springs, 7/16 nsa 1.6rr, guide plates, 7/16 studs, and new timing chain. Make sure you got good exhaust, cai, gear, tune, and stall if auto. Then you can always go heads later down the road. That will give ya good startin point.

We're not trying to be dicks but understand we LITERALLY get these exact same threads every single day and it gets old. Your question is not specific to your car only. There are thousands of threads asking the same thing that will answer your questions.

And when we get short posts that don't tell us anything then we can't help you either. You have to give us info on the car and what you want from it.

But just to help you....

The stock heads after a quality port job will support some pretty big numbers. Common names you will hear around here are Lloyd Elliot or Advanced Inductions. They are probably the best when it comes to the LT1 heads and many people use them with great success.

https://ls1tech.com/forums/lt1-lt4-m...ion-guide.html

up above is a good basic cam selection...

stock ported heads are great for a street car, and like everyone says, these threads pop up constantly.... i'd contact lloyd elliot or advanced inductions to get your heads done, for now only do they port them you get the bigger valves, stronger springs and such, also for a little extra bucks you can have them custom grind you a cam for what youwant, i kind of wish i went that route... still love my xfi280 though
