my car has long tubes and its lowered and I almost never scrape...and we have some nasty roads here in Michigan.

IMO anything less than LT's wouldnt be worth the effort.

Well after doing some research i found out that best mid headers will be Mac, i also want to change my stock, but can't afford long ones because of the bumpy roads in Russia.

My '96 TA got plugs at 115,000 miles just because I felt guilty. Didn't need them. Clean and gap was dead nuts. EFI, no oil burning & platinum plugs=long spark plug life. My old 454" Suburban got them at 120,000, wife's Lexus at 135,000. All same story. None ran any different. 100,000 is way safe.

A gear change will get you much more than headers, and no emissions issues.

Never owned a 2.73 geared F body. Personally, I would never buy one. 3.23 to 3.73 was about 1 mpg. Guessing maybe another mpg from 2.73? I just don't know. 3.42 is a good compromise for a 2.73 car. A couple of guys around here just bought whole rear ends from a stick car, exchange, from a salvage. All stick cars have 3.42 gears from the factory.

So 3.73 will be aftermarket? It's impossible in Russia to rebuilt the rear end so buying the rear end in US i must be sure that it's good. I fully understand that i might get cracked one, but it will all depend on sellers honest. Will 3.43 dramatically differ from 2.73?

Yes, a 3.42 would be a dramatic change. You would think you had a new car.
A 3.73 would be aftermarket. An S10 truck 3.73 gear set will fit the original F body rear end, but you would need a different limited slip unit also. The limited slip 3.42 rear end from a manual trans F body, imho, would be your best deal. Your PCM would need programmed for the gear change also. Your speedo and shift points will be way off.

Good luck.

Probably get you by, being where you are located. The older ones would not let you adjust the WOT shift points. Newer models might. They tend to hit the rev limiter on WOT gear changes if you made that big of a change years ago. A lot of the bad mouthing you hear about them here is not justified.

I would go to their website. Probably a Contact Us link, and ask them if you can adjust WOT shift points after gear change correction.

I changed from a 2.73 to a 3.42 and was one of the best things i did to the car.You can pick one up for around 250.00 complete.Hwy rpm's went up by 400 @ 70 mph 2400 to 2800 on the highway. But my gaines at the track were great 9.2 1/8th to a 8.75 1/8 th mile and feels like a new car
