You can make power from it but why would you want to when you can get a 5.7 for dirt cheap. What is it in?

Yeah sounds like you are really lost.
What do you have and what are you trying to accomplish.

Then just do a SBC. Way better choice for too many reasons.

I have about 1500 to spend. Currently where I am there are no big cities around. Or good junk yards they want as much as the stores do.

It depends on what condition the motor is in. (Or a car, I didn't really understand which if not both). If I were you I would first replace the worn out parts before doing any mods. General maintenance could even run your bill to $500 and up. Stuff like gaskets, push rods, lifters, filters, etc, etc will cost me up to about a thousand... I went ahead and got a quote on some stuff that I could think of at the moment while I was in a parts store yesterday and the result was $700 bucks, of course I couldn't remember ALL of the things I will probably need. Oh and by the way, I get a pretty big discount, talking over 30% under list price.

My point is mods will not matter if the car is not 100%. But to answer your question of what mods will make your L99 (?) an enjoyable street performance engine- the usual bolt-ons like high flow exhaust, cold air intake, definitely a tune. It should be enough left over for those after maintenance if what you got is in a decent shape.

Thanks for the info. But my camaro is all beat up. It needs some or little body work. Interior definitely is bad. But the engine that was suppose to be the is not. They replaced it with a 307 engine.

Either way, you should check it to make sure. Visually inspect it for leaks, check spark plugs, obviously fluids. It would be a good idea to check the compression and do a leak down test on the cylinders. That should get you started Don't forget the suspension though... The most important thing is to be safe on the road, both for you and others.
