How to scan a 95 lt1 w/ obd2 port w/ obd1 scanner?

Andrew made great cables. Remember buying a few back when he 1st started making them.
Ive never had a problem with Craigs stuff either. (use it on my 92) had a 95 cable awhile ago. lent it out. Never got it back.
So I just got another one a few days ago. I hope I don't have a problem with it/

Just bought the moates cable. Haven't done much research into the tuner pro rt yet, but I understand there is a free version and a $30 version? What advantages does the paid version have? Also what all will the program allow my to do besides handle DTC's? I don't know that I'll mess with it just yet, but I'd like to know what it's capable of?

With Tunerpro rt you can tune, datalog, and can delete DTC. The $30 is basically just a donation, the program still does everything without the $30. The only difference is that you'll have a 10 second wait on the program start-up screen.
Read through the stickies here - http://ltxtech.com/forums/forumdispl...Tuning-and-PCM - to get you started.

I don't think you can clear codes with datamaster. If you can it's something I've never figured out lol. But I'm pretty certain you can't IIRC. A lot of people use datamaster to data log then use tunerpro to tune and/or clear codes. You can datalog on tunerpro also.
Also, a heads up in case you or anyone else has this problem, but the converter cable I got from Moates came with a shitty USB cord (the one that plugs from the computer to the serial converter). It would always cut in and out like crazy. I ended up using an extra one lying around my house and now my connections are clear as sunshine.

in the Serial Data Acquisition window it is called "Clr EMALFs"

got my moates cable today. i deleted datamaster and got tunerpro RT, basically i just want to code read with this program. ive been reading how to's for a while now... and im exhausted. do i need to have any definitions or other add on files to run this program as a scanner? because that seems like a lot of work from what ive been reading just to read DTC's.
also, i have a friend with a 95 LT1 as well, he has an auto, and unknown cam (was in the car when he got it.) we were wanting to figure out how to adjust the idle speed. and i was wondering how tedious figuring out how to do that was going to be?

OBD Reader
I'm in almost the same situation. I have a 95 that plainly says OBDI reader on the outflow lable however it has a 16 pinDTC. I might want to purchase a scanner to peruse codes without setting off to the portable PC course. I have the FSM for the 95.
The paper cut strategy for the 16 pin or 12 pin is fine and however I am a middle aged person and it would be easyer to simply connect a link to and perused from a scanner. I might want to have the capacity to peruse ABS codes too.

Something hand held that will also do ABS is highly expensive. The above is free + the cost of a cable.
