Which MAP Sensor for '93 24x LT1?
Ok so I recently installed the 24x conversion on my '93 LT1 along with some other mods. A question I ran into early on was what MAP sensor would I be using. When my harness was being built they asked what I'd want and I believe I told them a 3 bar (Does this make a difference in what plug they'd put on the harness or something?). Anyway I gave them a call and they told me I'd be able to use my current sensor since "they're all the same." Anyway that's where my main question comes in for everyone here. We tried hooking up the plug in my new harness to my '93 map sensor and the plug is slightly different. Very close to being the same, but not quite. Does anyone here know what sensor I need? LS1? I noticed the part number on all '93-'97 LT1 sensors is the same so I'm just kind of lost here. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

You will have to find a 3 bar MAP sensor. Factory LT1 MAP sensors are only 1 bar. Supercharged 3800s are 2 bar MAP sensors and I'm not real sure what came factory equipped with a 3 bar MAP but I think it was the Turbo Trans Am in 1989. Regardless each MAP sensor has a slightly different connector.
Are you planning on supercharging your car?
Edit: I think the 2 and 3 bar sensors have the same connector layout

Contact EFIConnection or look on google images at the color of the connectors for each different bar value.
1 bar is typically a green connector
2/3 bar is typically a white, black, or orange connector
Below is a picture of the 2/3 bar connector

The plan is to start around 6-8psi on pump gas then upgrade the fuel system, e85, and shoot for around 18-20psi. So I was planning on just using a 3 bar right from the start. Thanks again for all the help though!

Another example:
Some customers have requested a 4L60-E harness connection with future plans of a 4L80-E. They are pinned a little differently and require different harness lengths. When building a new harness, it's one or the other.

so can we put a 3 bar on it now with 5-8 psi? or do we have to run a 1 bar for this summer? can i just put his green conector on his new harrness for this summer?
or can we just buy this 3 bar and call it good?

This is a difficult harness build requirement because at 6-8 psi, you will use a 1-bar MAP (green harness connector). As soon as you go 15 psi, the MAP sensor must be replaced (2-bar) and the orange harness connector is required. So, you've received the "correct" harness connector, but also the "wrong" harness connector.
2 bar map = 1 bar vacuum - 1 bar boost (-14.7 psi - +14.7 psi)
3 bar map = 1 bar vacuum - 2 bar boost (-14.7 psi - +29.4 psi)
With any boost a 2 bar MAP is required for boost referenced tuning. Beyond ~14.7 psi boost a 3 bar MAP is required.
Additionally, properly tuned there is nothing wrong with running a 2 bar MAP with no boost(at least until you can get to that point). The MAP referenced tables will just have reduced resolution.
