Shift kit question Hey guys am gonna rebuild my trans in a few days.. And I wanted to know what's the best shift kit . I have a b&m shift kit in it and it shifts pretty firm. But I want something that shifts harder what is the best that everyone runs.??

transgo is good from what i hear. although i read one time that a few of the big name 4L60 builders use parts from different kits to make one good one but idk for sure on that one lol.

I have a 2800 stall I heard the trans go doesn't shift as hard as the b&m is that true

Cause it's fun when it shifts hard... And it doesn't shift out of 2nd at and it's leaking am it slipping and i had to dyno tuned by madtuner and I don't think my car has shift firmness cause its a 93

I don't mean to sound like an ***, but if you step back and read your response its like an answer to the question "Why did my trans break?". HARDER shifts do not mean "better" shifts, especially if its ruining other parts in the trans. I understand the desire to achieve quick & firm shifts. I was going to suggest having your PCM tuned for firmer shifts but b/c you are a 93 your trans is actually a 4L60 - not quite a mechanical 700R4 and not as electronically controlled as the 4L60E. I don't even think a computer tweak (chip) would even be capable of electronically adjusting the firmness of that trans.
So I see now why you are talking about shift kits. I'd just keep in mind that super HARD neck snapping shifts are not "good". Fun, perhaps, but rebuilding a trans over and over likely isn't.
BTW I'm curious with your 4L60 + shift kit are the shifts HARD at any speed or is that trans able to regulate the shift firmness? (in other words, are the shifts just as hard under mild throttle as they are under WOT?)

Well I can't help you RE: shift kit recommendations b/c I don't know. If you had a 4L60E (as I said) I'd recommend you tune it for firmer shifts, but you can't. I guess a shift kit is your only option. Problem with those kits and when you hog out the inner fluid passages is that its all or nothing > you want HARDER shifts - great - but you get them practically all the time. There's no off or regulating the firmness. That was the beauty of the 4L60 "E" - its controlled by the PCM which is not only smart but can learn. When you tune the trans for firmer shifts VIA programming, the PCM knows to keep it civil under normal throttle and maximize shift firmness under WOT. You're not snapping your granny's little old neck when giving her a slow ride into church 
If I were you I'd just be careful and not necessarily seek out a setup that will give you the HARDEST shifts b/c again hard isn't good. Quick and firm is what you want. Beefing up trans internals would also be a good idea to better handle the work.

transgo I just had transgo with .500 boost valve installed yesterday and the 1-2 shift is hard at all rpm. it will definately kick it out whenever I want. too firm for my taste in town so now its time for a stall !!

I didn't even know that lol I guess having a super hard shift isn't good but I still want something that will bark n get the *** end a little side ways.. And ya with the kit I have now driving in traffic sucks cause when it's under mild throttale it shifts hard not as hard as wot but still jerks the car around... Which kit would u recommend..??
