In the early days of the LT1, the C4 were a respectable performer. With the new generation of Vettes they can really push the performance of the fuel injection motors.

After having a H/C Z06 for a little while now, I would find it difficult to go to a fifth gen car unless it was something super special, like the new Z28.

I hope the next Camaro looses some weight and looks good but based on everything on the dealers lots except the vettes... It gona be butt ugly.
Spend that same amount of money on the ZL as you just did sending that Mustang to roush........The outcome would look pretty grim for the stang then.

Why so much hate on the 5th gens? I can see out of them as good or better than the new Mustangs......even seems kinda lame to say that. 5th gens pretty damn good cars as far as I can tell. The Z28 is gonna be a monster on a road coarse.....even better than a 1LE which already handles better than a GT500.

Unfortunately i would get a new mustang or C6 over a 5th gen.

I think the 5th gen's look nice but, what turns me off is the weight of the car.

My nephew has a 12 SS manual and it is very fun to drive, drives much lighter than the weight implies. Though the difference between the GT and the SS is around 500 pounds, I wonder how much of that is in the RF tires and massive rims? the freaking stock mufflers are heavy as well.

Not available new, but I if I were in the market for a newer car I think I'd look for a low miles 2009 G8 GXP with LS3/M6 or a 2011 CTS V Sport Wagon with an M6.

...Anyways, I HATED it. Not because it's a Ford, but because of the way it drove. The rear end wanted to jump to the right or left anytime I hit a bump while going straight. The engine felt weak in the low rpms, and waaaay wayy to electronically controlled. Everytime I move the gas pedal there is a slight delay. The steering was tight and controlled but extrememly numb feeling. Same with the brakes, strong but extrememly touch and hard to modulate. I honestly thought it would rock my socks, but that thing had wayyy too many electronically "enhanced" controls. The shifter and clutch feel were awesome though, I did love that. After this experience, I really don't think I'd like any newer muscle car, even the Camaro or Vette'. The thing just completely lacked soul and driver feedback.
Welcome to all the cars manufactured in the last 6-8 years.. I've driven a LOT of late model cars, all automatics though . The Camaro SS felt like a tank to me, my buddy owns a Synergy Green RS and I hate it. Interior is cramped, it just feels wrong- way too bulky on the outside. The C6 was pretty nice, but I wasn't particularly impressed.

I'd without a doubt take the Mustang over the Camaro if I had to choose a new car. As far as the ZL1 goes, its still meh to me. I saw the Z28 at the NYC auto show, it was a matte white paint and looked stunning. The smaller profile in the front made it look slightly more aggressive, but its still ehh.

Well I guess the ZL1 I drove earlier this month was traded in for a 14 shelby cobra.
