Backfire
Backfire I was raising immortal hell in my car prom night... 
but as I was hanging this corning I let up off of the gas at about 4500 or 5000rpms and I heard a BOOM...my friends behind me said they say flames shoot out of the tailpipes...what happened? and is it really bad for the car?

well I your car is still running fine and this was an isolated incident i'd say you loaded the car up with fuel @45krpm and backed off which forced enough unburnt fuel mixture into your hot exhaust headers/catback/whatever and it ignited causing the backfire. If you got an SES light from this event and it scans as a bad 02 sensor then you blew the sensitive little element in the 02s, doubt that happened though.
