I want a turbo kit for my lt1 65 skylark. I obviously have more room in there but would still retain ac and power steering in stock locations. It's a ways out so I wouldn't be in the market asap but down the road is possible.

If people are turboing... I am pretty sure AIR/EGR are the last thing on their mind, no?

Im curious to know if you run the stock computer/ ignition(opti) on your current setup. Maybe I missed it.. Can you maybe post a pic of a mockup of a car with A/C? Im sure if you build it.... They will come.....3500 seems good but we all know How the Bolt Right in Goes....LOL

yes i will post pics of mockup, i understand every ones pain on "bolt in and go" for LTX cars, never works out like that, but i am very confident we will come up with a kit that wll take little to no modifications to install.

You guys all realize that LT1boost has been making kits since way back when, still does, and how many turbo LT1 cars do you see...?

No one has the coin to drop on a kit, for the $4k you could have a 5.3 and cheap turbo in, prob run faster.

There's quite a few turbo LT1 cars, they just don't generally get the attention the LS cars do.
Hell, Jordan Musser was making big numbers way back in the day with turbos. The LT1 crowd is obviously more budget minded, but there's plenty of owners out there that have the cash and want to stick with the ole LT1.
LT1boost makes a nice setup, no doubt, but more options are always nice.

LT1 boost kits are nice, and come with a price tag. The only reason I havent gone turbo is the price of the kit and opting for forged internals along with it. That **** adds up real quick. Then tuning and on and on and on.......................

Trust me, you don't want to open that can of worms.

Rebuilding for a modest fee is cool, but if you say its free people will be sending you their turbos every two months for a rebuild cuz they went with the cheapest chinese ebay turbo they could find.

Cool idea, but keep in mind the market is very small.

$1300 for a hotside, seems cheap to me?

Just saying the options are already out there, and again...how many turbo LT1 cars do you see online or in real life?

Not many, prob maybe less than a dozen.

Im not one to piece things together. The $4000 dollar kit would be in my shopping cart, and like I said, its pricey.

Go for it, just keep in mind the internet is a fickle place and if things aren't "just right" then keyboard warrior experts with bolt-on cars will be bashing you on forums.

If I didn't already mill the **** out of my heads for more compression I probably would have bit the bullet and went turbo eventually.

And $3500 is sitting in your back pocket? I don't get it.

if you really want to do this, forget the 4k+ market, you'll sell 3-4max is my guess.

If you want to follow the budget side, I think you gotta go denmah simple and do this for 500 or less. Get the truck manifolds facing forward used, make your hotside setup and call that done. Once you get enough people buying them, you can take the 1-off orders for the 4-5k stuff. but IMO, you don't have many LT1 cars left that people really want a new kit in that price range.

What dont you get, if I had that money, it would be in the shopping cart waiting for checkout. Since I dont have the money, its not.

Ah, I misread it as you saying lt1boost.net was not affordable but a $3500 kit from the OP would be.

$4000 for a full turbo kit is NOT pricey when you factor in what it includes. Heck, last I saw a P1SC blower kit was more than that, and the turbo kit will yield a lot more capability.
