Uh oh. I wouldn't put nice heads on it then incase it snaps and takes out some ****.

yeahh.. i have a spare lt1 sitting around i was thinking of a hc 355 stock crank polished and lightweight rods and pistons. with some decent heads and cam..

This sounds like a "cut your losses and start over" build, unfortunately. :/

The eagle kit i bought came with the cast crank i think 4340 rods and keith black pistons.. well last summer i broke 3 pistons so my engine guy put srp forged pistons and re balanced it.runs great this year.knock on wood. what do you think

I agree with ramair, at this point you've got a 383 that's slower than a Bolton only car, and you can't even push it or the crank will break, even tho it will probably break as you idle through a parking lot as that's happened a bunch. Sounds like you should quit while its in 1 piece, salvage what you can, and start over.

Sounds like you have good pistons and rods, and you just need a good forged crank.

Maybe the rods are 5140 forged does that sound right??? whats a good crank? callies dragon slayer?
