ive been waiting to see whats the result from the arcing....
any progress?
well my 5 cents are that the coil may be putting out too much spark???
is your ignition stock or do u have msd and msd coil?

i will tell you one thing. it may be something really simple.
if you read my thread on no spark. i was going nuts trying to get it and in the end it was something real simple.
so keep at it.
theres not a whole lot in the ignition system that can cause wild sparks like that.
thats why we all want a video. snap it on your smartphone(iphone plug)
and upload it to youtube and put the link in here.

make sure you dont have dielectric grease on the boots and plugs.
ground is the biggest issue. i would goto auto parts and get new ground straps.
take yours off and that way you make sure to get the correct size.

let us know...

It will take you 5 minutes to go out there and take a video of it - a video that just might help us help you. Stop being all mopey and go do it.

i just tried using jumper cables. from ground on battery and i kept moving the other end around to different ground spots onto the car. I couldnt get any of them to make a difference on how it runs. just poopy running the whole time.

forgot with my upgrade i also put in 30# ford red tops. but i doubt injectors would be an issue as all them seem like they are firing

well i will tell u a small story.
im the resident t/a fbody guru here in hialeah.
i saw a buddys car do something similar a few years back.
to make a long story short. what made it arc was the autozone guy sold him a grease to put on the spark plug threads claiming they are aluminum heads and steel plugs so they wont bond or sieze to the head.
we cleaned it off the heads and plug threads and problem solved.

so i would take out a plug and see if theres any kind of compound on the plug head threads maybe.

there was a test we would do with the ground unplugged from the battery and the test light in between to see if theres any shorts.
lemme find the instructions on how to perform it exactly.....
anyone else can chime in if ya remember off the top of ur head.

my phone will not pick up any of the arcing on video.the longer it runs it seems like the more arc starts happening. i mean the whole coil, coil wire to vacuum and coil wire to water pump are the most but my camera wouldnt pick it up on video. every spark plug still just is glowing but you can tell sometimes itll stop for 3 seconds and start flashing again.

the wires themselves do not arc as much as the msds did but arcs will still come out of them if they can reach a ground.

bury me or my car please.

The starter is grounded to the block just by being bolted to it. There is no ground wire running from the starter to the block.

so just randomly searching the web today looking for ideas.. i seen a random post that said a rich condition could cause wires to arc not letting the plug fire? is that real? could this actually be a tune issue? never heard of it.

Im trying to brain storm here, wires, plugs, heads, cam, intake, tune. thats all new stuff after build. intake cam heads i highly doubt are the issue. wires and plugs have been checked numerous times. tune is only other thing new. unless i had something else magically happen while my car was on jackstands for 2 months?

I never read u had a tune.
Put back stock tune n see if arc goes away.
Spark tables may be way offf.
Try that first.

reflashed it with the bolt on tune. i cant tell if its arcing but if i had to guess id say it is. still feels like its stumbling pretty bad holding it at like 1500-2000 rpms. or would the new cam and heads on a tune not for them cause it to run a little rough anyway? ill have to wait til dark for the assessment. i feel like a god damned vampire. i can only work on it at pure darkness.
