i think the scanner im using is the wrong one the innova i was on another site where someone had the same problem with that brand and had the same codes and not addressing the real DTC codes. so can anyone recommend a good scanner. besides a cable im just thinking of getting a 95 1.5 obd2 pig tail and swapping them. i just want my car running right. i have ocd lol and this is driving me insane. some of the codes are for 3.8L from what that scanner is showing and come to find out it does not do all 94-95 camaros just the v6's so that may be the issue

I did some research and found a link where a guy tried using the innova 3120b on a 94 lt1 and it wouldn't work. He called innova and they told him that when the scanner prompted for the 8th digit of VIN to enter in J instead of P.
I just went out to my car and tried this and it seems to have worked. This time i only got 4 codes
Codes 12,16,22,35

tried your tip and no dtc codes with the vin change, but still have a check engine light and found the main wire loom under the steering column a ground, pink which im thinking is ignition and red which is a 12v source. so could this be my problem for the voltage issue i have been having? or is my optispark having issues with voltage?

I am stumped...one day i can go out and crank the car and it runs alright just a lil rough, then next day go out and crank it only to have it start and run really rough(sounds like it cammed and missing) but yet last week all was fine, my car only has 150 000km on it.
I'd like to know if these scanners are any good as well. When entering the correct info into the scanner it comes up with the same 8 codes every time. But when i use the scanner with VIN j intead of p i only get 4 codes.code 35 is invalid, another is 12 which means all systems pass and is supposed to always come up from what i understand, and if you only see code 12 supposedly all is well.also got a code 16 and 22.
I am trying to get a hold of a actron scanner and see if it will give the same codes.

So still no progress on car tested fuel pressure everything checked out okay, pulled the fuel rails to check for leaky injectors and none were leaking but i'm gonna take em in to get them cleaned anyway as they are kinda dirty. I also took back that crappy innova scanner and got my money back and ordered one of these http://www.aldlcable.com/sc/details.asp?item=aldlobd1u
I am going to hook it up to my laptop and scan with datamaster to see what codes i get.
I also replaced the fuel filter.
Once i get my injectors cleaned and back on and get the cable in the mail i will scan my car and post my results.

all that work and i over looked the obvious it all was over a bad connection in the MaF had to pull it apart and fix the connection sensor now runs like a top and no check engine light. i guess its keep it simple stupid lol
