Default Rear alternator bracket installation..HELP!

Hello,

I just did a rebuild on my 1997 Z28 and for the life of me I cannot figure this thing out. Everything is bolting up just fine, but I came to the rear alternator bracket and need help as far as where this bolts up. Does it bolt up somewhere on the block? or the head? I been searching and searching and cannot find anything that can visually help, if you can throw me any assistance I would be very grateful!!! Thanks for looking!

it bolts to one of the studs that holds the intake to the heads.

The lower, rear bracket goes to the most forward stud on the exhaust manifold. It is a pain to get back on and a reason a lot of people leave it off.

Thanks for the help on this everyone. The only reason I was not going to leave it off is because I read leaving it off causes the accessory bracket to crack and or causes belt noises from the alternator. I did search shoebox but did not find that picture, thank you that was very helpful! As for the lower bracket, I just installed new Hooker shorties, and they were the biggest PITA to install, do any of you see an issue leaving this one off and installing the upper?

GM would not spend $.02 if they felt it was not "needed". belts sliping undet WOT pulls have occured and people have broken accessory bracket. with that said others feel they don't need it

since you are running headers now just get a stud for the front hole on PS head (or bolt) and a spacer the same thickness as the stock exhaust manifold and install (pic)
