So, apparently my car has a big fan. He saw me run at the track, got my number through a friend, and offered to buy my Z. He said he has been following it for years, and he offered quite a large sum for it.
I told him I would think about it. Normally I wouldn't even consider it, but it is really WAY more than I should be able to ever get out of it. I could easily buy a good 5th gen and a bit of mod money to go with it.

DO IT!! If you could actually make money on the car after all the mods and everything it would be silly not to. You could always take that money and do a nicer project. It's got to feel good that someone has been following the car and knows the history and quality of work done.

Between all the various combos, mods, re-mods, and breaking and fixing expensive things, I've easily got $70,XXX+ over all the years. He didn't offer me more than that.
He did offer me a LOT though. Way more than I could sell it for or part it out and sell it for combined and then some.
I've slept on it, and decided I will tell him "no". I've got too much sentimental value wrapped up in the car. The money would be nice, but I think there would just be a void I would never fill without it.

Thanks guys.
FU#€!! I said no to the guy, and he friggin' offered me more money. This isn't an internet scam, it is an actual person. He said he would pay in cash if that's what I would want, in person and would bring his own trailer to my house to pick it up.
I gotta still say a reluctant "no" though. It's more than a simple money thing. Besides loosing Fastbird as a friend for all the insane time he has in the car, this car holds just to much personal value to me. It was the first car I ever bought, after years pinching pennies while going to college. When I bought it, it was completely stock minus a flowmaster muffler and a home made cold air kit on it. Over years it has been transformed into what it is today. It even was the reason I ended up meeting my wife (another story in itself). As tempting as it is, and as nice as it would be to fatten my bank account largely, I think in time as that passed, I would always miss the car, and live with the regret of my decision. Money can be made and spent, but something's in life you can't put a price tag on. But it was not a simple conclusion to come to, even though it is one I am firm on.

When I was overseas, I was once offered close to 90K for mine. Turned him down but I'LL never do that again. I can build another one for a 3rd of that easy and pocket the rest or build the Z06 up. LOL I don't necessarily regret as she's my 1st too bone stock and I've got over 100K in over the years. Sentimental for sure...
I ain't mad at ya Ben. Send em' my way. LOL!
J/K My **** is NEVER for sale. EVER....running or not.

1, this was 1 single run out of many. I only got so many runs and with the new combo was learning where to launch. I had it down almost to a science before, now its all new. This one run should have be launched higher. Others where too high and the car spun through 2 gears and got squirrelly in 3rd. What I need is just more runs.
2, the car is a street car. That is my #1 priority and goal. The track stuff for me is 100% purely for fun, and when push comes to shove, the times are not that important to me to start changing things on the car that take away from its appearance or driving habits on the street. If all my goal was to run a certain time, I would gut the car, pull the front sway bar, put an automatic with a big converter in ect. ect.
