NEW UPDATE:

I waited until my car wouldn't start, found out it's because there is NO SPARK.

The LT1 has been fixed. Apparently, the ICM was good and the coil was bad. Well, the coil caused the ICM to go bad just before I bought a new coil. Then the ICM caused the coil to go bad just before I replaced the ICM! So I ended up replacing both the coil and the ICM at the same time and she is running beautifully. Thanks for all your help, guys!!!

I'm pretty certain it's fixed. She hasn't died on me yet. Usually when I mash on the gas, she'll die instantly. After replacing these, I floored it about 5 or 6 times and had no problem.

The coil being bad and causing those symptoms makes absolute sense.

I know this is an old thread, but I have the exact same issue. Only difference is I've replaced the ICM and coil and it STILL dies randomly/turns over with no start. I figured since I was getting no spark at the coil that it would be one or the other. It couldn't be my distributor since there's no spark at the coil, if I'm not mistaken. So what does that leave?

I have literally the EXACT same issue as you. Ive never seen anyone else with the same issue. I did optispark, water pump gaskets, etc. Still did the same thing. My next stuff to do is plugs, wires, and coil. If those dont work, then do fuel pump, opti wiring harness, or check overheating ICM. Its a really annoying issue and nobody seems to have an answer for it. Let us know if you figure out how to fix it. Id love to see how you did it
