Default 3:73 - 4:10/11 gears on stock 4L60E

Hey guys, while im being patient about the Rear Main Seal/Oil Leak ive been thinking on doing gears swap. Tranny is stock stall (1500) and wanted to get your guys opinions on getting 3:73’s or 4:10’s as a weekend toy gear to replace my stock 2:73’s. With an A4 what RPM would I be doing at 80 cruising speed, how bad would I be roasting the tires, how good of a smile will it put a smile on my face when racing the LT **** talkers?

With the RMS out I would be looking at a stall, not gears.

Bigger difference and you will be right there anyway.

Having had a car with a performance stall and stock gears.....AND.....having had a different car with performance gears and stock stall (both cars were Impala SS).......

I would recommend getting the gears!

Also.....unless you're looking to do mostly racing with this car, get 3.73 gears.
