Default 24x question

Hey there, I'm on EFI's site now have a question about what's needed. I'm looking at this one http://www.eficonnection.com/eficonn...px?ItemId=1330 and wondering if I use that one if I still need a crank key?

I dont believe the gm hubs are keyed, crank is not the hub. If you go to Jegs they have a pretty nice keyed hub that i used on my swap for about the same price. I really like having the keyed hub, extra peace of mind.

When I had my Fbody, I used that same hub for my 24x swap. It really is a nice piece. Especially for the money.

you can tell if its keyed because inside the hub where it slides onto the crank is a slit in it. thats where the key slides into.

Yuuuuup that's me!!! And that's good to know, I guess I have a keyed hub. So does that mean then I need the $10 crank key to make it work?

Yep. An auto parts store might have one cheaper.

Your sig is showing a 97 model car so you should NOT need the new keyway. Your stock one is made to use a reluctor wheel as well. But if you have any doubts, spend the $10.

Cool. Just figured I want to get everything all at once, the coil brackets and conversion kit, an extra $10 is nothing if it will help. This has been a changing project for the last 4 years. Having been unemployed really f*cked me over not being able to buy parts.
