Default spark plug wires

I have taylar spiro pro wires there blue . 25k-35k miles on them no arcing that I can see could they be going bad and making the car run like it has a random miss no ses lite but running with a hesitation or cough . I just added new plugs and that didn't help.

You would see some kind of code for a opti issue. Have you cleaned your mass air sensor? Where is the hesitation, from a dead stop or when you throttle hard?

Go out at night and look for spark arc on one of the wires. My car ran well with Taylor wires but I found spark jumping from two wires with only 5k miles on them. The went in the garbage the next day.

Since u dont post anything for a profile i dont know if u are an OBD II car or not. OBD II can tell which cyl is missing. It will also shut down a non-firing cyl. So if u have an OBD II car pull the PCM fuse to reset the PCM and see if it continues to miss or clears up.

good point thanks
1995 Camaro Lt1 auto trans obd1 no ses lite
Its more like a random miss. also sprayed the plugs wires with a nice mist at night to check for arch and none, changed the plugs which all looked good with new and didn't change. seems to havea power loss from this to.

OP -

Check the resistance of your Taylor spiral pro wires - they'll probably be less than 100 Ohms per foot, but the folks at Taylor can tell you the exact specifications.

If they are good (and I'll bet they are), look at the 4-pin connector which plugs into your Opti - I've had 3 that were very corroded, maybe it'll be as simple as replacing that extension harness.

If those two are not the root cause, and you've already thrown parts at every other component (i.e. - the Coil and the ICM), then it may be the dreaded (gasp!) Opti.

Good luck!

Check vacuum. Indication of burnt/leaking vlv is bouncing vacuum needle.

Reading vacuum is so basic - easier than reading DTC codes - i don't think u are ready to trouble shoot or maintain your own car. You will more likely save money by just taking the car to the dealer for a diagnose. And before u make your own maintenance problems u should see out a local automotive tech school for some basic training. Take a look in the phone book or even some local community colleges offer these.
Since u provide nothing in your profile on your car or location its too difficult to assist u with no useful information to reference your setup.

Taylor wires have been discussed around here quite a lot-they're some of the worst wires out there.

I'd first swap to a nice set of MSD's or even better, Granatelli Motorsports zero Ohm wires.

If the problem persists, you'll at least be able to rule out the plugs & wires.
