Default New shortblock question

My stock 350 decided it was done not even 1k after my HCI build...found a good built forged 355, JE forged pistons, bored .030 over, balanced and stock reconditioned crank that i like locally, will be picking it up most likely this week but had a question about the cam that was in it. It has a 235/243 .602/.608 LSA cam in it. I currently am running a 227/235 .565/.579 110 LSA cam. Both cams are from LE. I will have the same beehive springs, pushrods, 1.6 rr, lifters, and LE2 heads in it either way. Exact same setup, what power differences are there? what kind of drivability would i see with the 234/243 cam? how much worse fuel economy?

That can will make more power a little higher then your current one. If its an LE cam, call him and ask how it will do, he should be able to give you a better idea.

You should also make sure that your current valvesprings will handle it as well.

Yep, shelled out 450 for a dyno tune. well worth it, car drove about like what it did a few weeks before when it was stock. I wouldnt mind paying for another tune for this new cam, if you guys think the power gain and drivability would be worth it? mainly concerned on the power gain. also i may add, this if my first actual "build" had a buddy do the first top end build. I wasnt aware if sliding the cam in was a process or if it was a piece of cake. I'm decently well with a wrench, Today after school I basically tore everything down, and the car is pretty much ready for the overhaul here by the weekend, just gonna give it a quick run through tomorrow and unbolt the headers and I should be game for saturday.

Exactly. Find out what springs are recommended for that cam and either get current ones tested or get new ones.
