I might look at the library for a copy of March '97's Hi-tech perf....

I like the 3.85 stroke vs a 4.00

The dyno results with the TPIS 409 cam are nice too...

I can see why, if you wanted to go after market sbc might as well go Gen I. A after market Gen II block would be cool but I cant see the market for it.

Maybe just sonic test a few LT1 blocks.... There always is a variance between different blocks... You could find one without core shift that could be punched out that far. That 409 has a milder cam and minimal headwork as compared to highest RWHP cars on here... Basically ported stock heads and a street cam for that displacement.

you could sleeve too but have them installed via cryo...

IMHO a GEN III aftermarket block would do well...

A GEN I is already doing well... With a few models and MFG's to chose from...

A Gen 2 block would be a waste. I don't see anyone buying them. The LT1 design never took off really. I would buy an aftermarket Gen 3 block. The LS1 design is awesome but obviously has its shortfalls. My next project is going to be with a C5R block, but for $5000, it's going to be a while. Maybe by then they'll have something just as nice and about half that price.
