SES light

SES light Service engine soon light came on for some reason and the cooling fans came on. The dash is out & the only thing unplugged is the air bags. As far as the computer I disconnected the computer in order to take the Evap/expansion cover off. Havent replaced the core or anything yet. I just have the cover, glove box out for now while im waiting for the core & expansion valve to come. Drove it this morning and drove fine to work, on my way home pooring rain, about 7 mins into my drive the SES light came on and the cooling fans came on which is kind of a surprise since they dont come on at all with my A/C system down. Car wasnt over-heating or anything. The computer must be throwing a code that is making the fans come on. A/C is completely off when it did this. Made sure all O2’s are connected & all electrical engine connections are connected and everything seems fine.
Anyone have any idea what the deal is?

Fans won't come on with the a/c if the a/c is disabled, but otherwise they should work normally and coming on with the SES is one of the normal things they do. Scan for codes. That's what you do when the SES comes on.
And do yourself a favor, make a signature. I won't beg people anymore to tell me what they are working on. I just normally ignore the thread and move on to another one where the info is given. People change cars all the time and keep the same screen name, so that is no way to identify anything.
