I had Pacesetter LTs for a long time , they did the job quite well.. it makes me laugh when people attempt to compare an inexpensive set of headers to a VERY expensive set and complain!!!!
You have mild steel compared to stainless steel, coated vs uncoated good grief guys are you trying to say that there will be a difference in performance vs price if so its time to market the very same drug your obviously on.... Taner had no problem using HOOKER LTs running 10s,9s or 8s ...
Get yourself a decently priced header, coated is preferred but not the end of the world.. Stainless is nice also but you pay the price for that metal.

Hooker/Jet hot
Pacesetter
Headman
LPP
Vs.
Kooks
Stainless steel works
American racing headers
Its all personal preference GREAT companies

I agree with you 100% . From my experience Pacesetter LTs and the Y-pipe from TEXAS SPEED made for the Ls1 slightly modded for Lt1 is perfect or go duals......

Boy's I appreciate the replies the good and bad, I know a few guys using Pacesetter LT's and they had no problems with them. A friend of mine has a set of LT's on his car 94 Z28, with a full exhaust and gears he ran a mid 13 not bad for a almost stock car. Anyway I know the paint will burn off them, had a painted set on my old Firebird. I priced kooks to get them at my door I was looking at 1,500 bucks with taxes and shipping, not paying that for a set of headers no way!!!!!

easy enough install. great headers, anyone who pays 1500 for headers is a moron.

Love my OBX headers, well made and dropped right in no problem (with a tubular K member). Not bad for $330 shipped and stainless to boot.

Had pacesetter longtubes also. They fit great, even the y-pipe fit well. As said above, if you get the painted ones I'd recommend sandblasting them and repainting with high temp paint. They even say the paint they're shipped with is just to keep them from rusting while on the shelf.

Only headers truely worth the $$$ are ones made specifically for your engine combo. Any mass manufactured header will all perform the same. PS or Kooks, you wont see the gains from the added price of Kooks.

Coming from LS1GTO.com, they claim FPFQ on anything other than the highest priced parts for those cars. It's hilarious how dumb some of them are believing that higher price = better performance.
