24x LT1 Conversion with 1x CMP in Timing Set/Cover
Back in May I posted about the new conversion we were working on... https://ls1tech.com/forums/lt1-lt4-m...very-soon.html
Many months have passed since then and we have been working toward a timing cover solution for the application. In efforts to keep costs down, we first looked into a new die cast timing cover. The first promising lead completely fell through. We then visited a die cast facility and experienced the entire process. The requirement of a production run of 2,000 timing covers and the cost of the molds was a show-stopper.
We settled on using our CNC mill to run the timing covers in-house from billet stock. Just last week we put the new LT1 timing covers into production.

Here's a look at the production kit as it will be received (model was created with actual production solid model components). The kit will consist of a billet aluminum timing cover, Cloyes double roller timing set with 1x CMP signal, CMP sensor, 24x crank reluctor, CKP sensor, and late LT1 crank key. These new kits should begin shipping in the next few weeks.

We completed the first production run of SBC timing covers last week. Here's a photo of the completed SBC conversion. The LT1 timing cover will look much the same - just taller. Timing covers are anodized black and then the logo work is faced on the mill.
not to hijack your thread but i am going single plane intake, can i just run a vortec style dist that you sell? i already have the 24x kit , old style, this way . my ls1 harness cmp plug is back at intake where belongs

looks great! very pleased with mine when I had it.
I think the easier thing here guys is the sbc motors are cheaper, should be easy to put a sbc 427 in these cars with the 24x kit than keep investing in the lt1...
