For street legal, full length, SLP 2OTL with LT headers and correctly merged y-pipe is the best. Other than that, LT headers dumped before the axles is also great sounding.

I've been looking for a "louder exhaust" than my L/T's, catless and Borla CB (removed pass tip so exhaust is fully muffled).

I've been having a hard time finding something I like at idle/driving/WOT. A lot I come by sound good at idle and WOT but sound like a truck just driving.

I am plannin on picking up a Moroso Spiral flow muffler and either putting it in place of the Borla muffler or putting it right after the Y.

Majority of the spiral flow videos I have heard sound good.

It's the Power-Flo, I guess that's what they call it for the vettes. Straight pipes from the cat on back to the mufflers which are also straight through.

Sorry to hear about your ride. Hate to hear about that happening to something you’ve put a lot of time and smashed knuckles into.

Small Burn out VERY WINDY DAY sounds a lot louder and meaner in person. Went from MAgnaflow catback to this. 96 Lt1 Mid length Headers (Catless) 3 inch all the way to "Magnamouth catback" Little raspy Adding powersticks before 3.5 dual tips to cut down on the rasp.

I drove FL to PA, PA to FL once with a dumped 4" bullet before someone on tech here posted up a parts list from a diesel exhaust source to make it over the axle. It was loud. I could see it on something I don't daily, but at the time the car was my daily. I drove it that way for several months though.

Definitely made me appreciate it when the exhaust went all the way to the back of the car.

You have my exact setup minus the powersicks (pacesetter mid tubes, no cat, magnaflow cat back) No rasp for me, just sounds deep and nasty Mines a cammed 383 however. No complaints here for a cheap and simple setup that sounds great!

Yeah the magna flow Catback it self is not raspy, I switched to a loud mouth setup with a magna flow resonator instead of the loud mouth and it sounds a lot better and louder for my stock engine then the quiet magna flow cutback, Yeah 383 with maganflow catback=sex how ever stock engine with catback to quiet.

I have long tube off - road Y pipe going in to a single 3" to a 20" long turbo muffler with a single cutout just after the y. I think it sounds good closed no rasp quiet but can still definitely hear the cam. Opened up sounds great imo.
Closed at the pipe:

On my heads/cam car this exact setup doesn't sound even a little bit like a pickup. It's quite loud, yes, but not truck-like at all. I guess it may not be for everyone, but I enjoy the way this setup sounds on my car at WOT.

When my car was "cam only" I ran this exact same catback setup behind shorty headers and a ORY. With the shorties it was quite truck-ish, but when I did the heads and longtubes it changed the tone completely. Yeah, it's still loud and somewhat raspy, but much more race-car in overall tone than straight-piped pickup truck.

At any rate, on the street I usually run the Borla plate with the 3/4 inch hole instead of wide-open. Still the same race-car tone, just with less rasp and not nearly as horrifically loud.

GMMG if you go with cat-back. I've had GMMG on 3 F-bodies. Plus, it's something ONLY available to 82-02 F-bodies. GMMG doesn't make anything for any other car, unlike other manufacturers who make applications specific to many cars. Borla sounds good too, but I went back to GMMG. Sounds good with any set up on the car, especially WOT.
I'm gonna go out on a limb here and recommend you DON'T go with SLP Loudmouth. Heard it in peson and hate it. Most other guys I know share the same opinion.
