Not the best video, but I'm a fan of straight piped with a turbo muffler... and I love the sound of open cutout!

I run Kooks Stepped Long Tubes, a custom Y with bullets after each collector in the burns style merge, has a Borla "cat back" with a DMH E-Cut Out. Always gets compliments, good thing about LT1s, you really can't make them sound bad. I ran a similar set up, Hooker LTs, Off road Y and a Borla when the car was bolt ons, got compliments or mean looks.

I have Hooker long tubes, 3 inch Y pipe that I added two 3 inch Magnaflow high flow cats, Powerstick in the intermediate pipe to a GMMG. It sounds wonderful!

Running long tubes off road y pipe and SLP loudmouth is a sure fire way to make it sound bad if you ask me. Sounds like a 1975 hillbilly truck with glasspacks....

Best exhaust I liked on my old 94 z28 was all that, but just with a moroso spiral flow muffler installed where the SLP resonator was. Got it very quiet inside the car and just had an awesome sound to it.

I still love the way GMMG sounds on lt1s. It wasnt too loud to attract cops or **** off your neighbors, but it could set alarms off when you stepped on it. I had a lot more compliments with that than my ls1 w/borla. Even from ls1 people.

it depends, nothing sounds better than a built boosted car with a nice cam, for you average bolt on h/c f body and you want to stick with a catback gmmg ( madhammer) is the best catback i have heard, i love my duals , imo duals will always sound far better but if i went back to a catback a gmmg would be it ,

False lol. L/T's, catless and a Borla Catback with the passenger side tip "full open" sounds like a damn pick up truck. Horrible sound.

I'm running L/T's, catless and Borla catback with a block off plate to get rid of the passenger tip and just recently cut off the driver side tip to install 04 GTO tips to lessen the ugliness of tips under the Camaro bumper.

I like the sound of the Borla, fairly tame cruising and can somewhat open up at WOT....but I'm on the lookout for another "loud muffler" I can use when I want to be rowdy. Then toss the Borla back on for longer trips.

I agree with this, long tubes with an open Borla sounds terrible. The only thing that sounds worse is long tubes ORYP and a loudmouth, that sounds like an old farm truck!

With or without cats, the best sounding cat backs are not in any order:

GMMG
Hooker
SLP 2OTL
SLP Dual/Dual
New SLP Power Flo
Any 4 inch single outlet with Magnaflow or Borla

JMO...

My setup is rusting away ceramic coated pacesetters
3" to 4" ypipe using the flowmaster merge, with two 3" bullets (my cats),
muffler in the 4" pipe is also a dynomax bullet.

Edit: Ugh I hate my damn cluster lights! I used the ford twist in holders with some superbrightleds, I'm guessing I have poor connection or something......

You're going to have to decide "best" for yourself. I run longtubes, off road Y, and a magnaflow. I couldn't ask for a better sound. It literally makes me giggle everytime I get on it, but that's just me.

I have the SLP 2OTL but IMO the GMMG on an LT1 is one of the best sounding exhausts I've heard.

Of course then there's the x-pipe to bullets but not for a daily driver...
