ORDERED THE VFN!

I didn't want a huge hood, and decided on getting "regular" pin-on sunoco. Non-wide, non-extended. They say it will clear the LS1 lid no problem and that I don't need the wide at all for that.

Thank you for all your help everybody!

What a great company. Jeanie was really helpful with all my questions.
She then asked what my ls1tech.com username was, so I gave it to her. She says "that's great, I'll put you down for a group purchase price." Really? Awesome! I didn't even ask for a discount or anything. What a great company. It's very refreshing to talk to someone so knowledgeable and nice.

Glad you made a good choice! VFN is awesome to work with! I too had originally ordered the regular with it modified to clear the lid setup. Since I'm local to them, I drove down there and we tried bolting it on and it didn't clear. They made my "wide" in less than a week and I did the same thing, drive down and put it on in their parking lot. I'm contemplating selling mine and going to the extended pin on since my car won't be seeing much if any street time once it's done. I will definitely be going back to them again though!

Ok great.
I like the look of aerocatch pins.
Is 4 going to be enough?

Just be careful removing a pin on hood by yourself in an emergency on a windy day. Had one on my old '72 chevelle years ago and I set sail across the pit area at 75-80 Dragway..

Jason I'm glad that Jeanie at VFN took care of your order, their customer service is second to none.
Chris(duh), thanks for posting pics. The hood looks great on your car.
I, personally don't like the pin on look. It takes away the clean lines of the car,Imo. I'd look else where to remove weight up front.

I actually was torn between bolt on and pin on.
My other buddy says I'm crazy, all the extra work and annoyance getting it on and off. I hope I don't regret it.

Hey do you think I can strap the box to the roof of my SUV easily enough or is that asking for trouble?

I can save $120 having it shipped to NY instead of Canada, and just drive it home...
