Best bet is to sell the TCI because its a crap shoot. The reason I know is because Dacco makes those converters. I know cuz I use to work there

What cam someone is running only tells part of the story, much more to the setup than that. People have put down great times with pretty much any of the off the shelf cams but that usually speaks more volumes of the setup, tune, and the time spent dialing in the car than anything else. Those cars with the time and money invested along with a better suited cam would no doubt run quicker. This isn't the 90's anymore and settling for a generic off-the-shelf cam when custom grinds that have had the time put in adapting them to the particular setup for only a little more money are widely available. Not to mention the cam grinders these days are much less hit-or-miss than days past. That being said if you can score a quality off-the-shelf cam used at a great price that will work with your setup, then by all means go for it, I know I did when I had my cam-only setup.

The CC305 is an old SBC carryover cam with lazy lobes that like previously stated is an ok boost cam at best and an underwhelming n/a cam most of the time.

I would put a decent stall in it before swapping the cam again.

Gains from another cam swap would be marginal for the amount of work involved. The CC305 you have isn't exactly optimal, but it's not terrible either.

A high quality converter (Yank or Vig) with a stall speed in the 3400-3600 range would be a good thing.

If you're going to dig into it again I'd do a set of ported heads along with more cam. Of at least get the heads shaved for a bit more compression.

I want low 1.6 and 11.99.
heads are shaved but got a 0.049 head gasket. Not optimal. . But I'm learning as I go
