Ok, what sort of shocks should I consider? I will likely do a set of lowering springs at the same time.
Would this package suit it well, or can I do better for the price?

The car is a street car that seldom sees the strip.

AFCO & Strange both make a great shock.

The relocation brackets certainly do help A LOT on a lowered car....(not sure about stock ride height) you have got to correct the angle of the control arms. Otherwise, I highly recommend some sticky DR's such as Toyo Proxes TQ DRs....say goodbye to wheel spin and axle hopping (even in 40-50 degree weather), it really makes the car safer and a lot more fun As mentioned, if you still have 20 year old stock shocks, it may be time for replacement!

Oh yea...is your car a t-top car? If so get some weld in subframe connectors....my car felt loose as a goose when stock, once I got those welded in, HUGE difference you immediately feel driving; it will launch better, fewer rattles, just makes the car feel more solid.

i would think a local garage could tell you if your shocks were really bad or not. my car club had a tour of QA1 shocks factory , i was impressed. if i ever need new shocks im getting QA1's. (i still have stock shocks ). super chevy may 2004 article ls1 dos & donts recommends sfc right away! my vert rocked like a boat if i hit a bump & now straight & smooth after welded sfc's. i've had my car for 10 yrs & i told you how i solved the problem. no wheel hop for 9 yrs is pretty good dont ya think? ps a local garage could also check if your torque arm is broken.
