Guys I got a 97 z28 that blew a head gasket about a year ago, and it has been sitting every sense. Now I have the money to fix it. Local shop has quoted me a price to rebuild the motor back to stock at 1,800 and they will provide a 1 year warranty. The car itself has 150,00 miles on it.
What you think guys, what would you do? Odds are I am going to be open to selling it when I get it fixed.

The price is reasonable for pulling the motor and doing a mild rebuild, I assume just rings, bearings, oil pump, and maybe a hone on the cylinders? I'd ask what specifically is included, a "rebuild" can vary quite a bit. Is the rest of the car in good shape? If you're just going to sell it, this is a poor investment as the car will still only bring $2000-2500; I'd either part it out as is, or just get head gaskets replaced or replace them yourself and save some cash. If you are going to drive it for years to come, it might be worth it, they could always slip in a cam and some roller rockers as an added bonus!
Yeah I need to find out exactly what is included in the rebuild. The car is in good shape, but the clear coat on top is peeling so definitely will need a paint job. Maybe I would keep it I was doubting it. I am just looking at it as I am not going to find another car that will be in good shape for 1,800 dollars.
BTW, what would be a good recommendation for a cam and roller rockers?
I know in my area, that car completely stock with decent paint and interior will sell for $5k all day. (Assuming it runs good and cleans up real nice) I had a black 97 Z28 that had 100k miles, but had great paint, leather, ss hood/ spoiler & 11" tt2 wheels, and all bolt ons. That car recently sold quickly for 8700. I've sold a ton of these cars from 93-02 T/A or Camaro for many years now.
