i have been chasing this problem for a long time. the car started running rich and the starts got harder and harder. it runs soo rich you have to keep it running and clear the fuel out. what could cause this?

I'd first check the coolant temp sensor and see if it's accurate; if it is, then look at O2's and MAF.

What all have you done to it including mods and troubleshooting (be specific)? I assume it has a cam if you have ported heads? Has it been tuned for the mods you have done? Exhaust leaks? Could be any number of things....got to start narrowing it down some.

i have checked fuel pressure, fuel pressure regulator, leaky injectors, throttle positioning sensor, coolant temp sensor, exhaust restriction, o2s, maf, vacuum, tried another computer from tha same year lt1. my mods are pp heads, cam sililiar to a hotcam, polished intake, lts, cai, and tune done by a shop near me. the car was tuned over a year ago so i didnt think that could have caused this problem but i swapped the computer just to see and its the same.

I was going to say a bad injector. Have you pulled the injectors and had them checked?

i havnt had them checked. i visually inspected the o rings and watched to see if they where leaking when primed.

Have u checked IAC, and a possible restriction in the passage way.

Did the car ever run right after the tune? It's possible the tuner screwed something up or didn't know what he was doing. A stock untuned PCM would still make your car run like *** and rich so it's not the best comparison. Maybe ask the tuner to take a second look or find somebody else..

i havnt checked egr or iac. what would i be looking for on those? and it ran good until just randomly started running rich so i know something has changed post tune.

Man did you figure out what's was wrong I am having the same problem
