True duals guys chime in please!
I know this topic has been beat to death, but my question is on pricing and labor.
Ive already ordered a set of pacesetter long tube headers and (2) 3" diameter-12" length dynomax bullet mufflers (I've heard them, I like them)
My question is, how much should I be looking at to complete my system? Should I order a jegs/summit 3" x pipe or have a muffler shop fabricate one for me? I also need the turn downs.
Thanks in advance for the input fellas.
I just got true duals done on my ls1 car and I paid 250 for labor.
One thing I really recommend is getting both pipes placed on right side of driveshaft.
It really makes things easy to service trans if you need to.
Also use ball flanges between x pipe and bullet mufflers (also easy to unbolt if you change your mufflers in future).
The universal kits usually requires lot of fabrication (no personal experience but from what I read on here).
I really recommend using the narrow x pipe from summit. Part #643130
Turn down tips are easily made at a exhaust shop and probably cheaper to do than buy pre made.
And actually I believe as long as I don't weld the collectors I can have the rest welded and just unbolt the entire piece (collectors-turn downs) to get the transmission out?
Whats the need for header extensions?
