Can't believe nobody wants a cheap, streetable 10 second car....
I'd love someone to build something that fast for that price and be reliable.
Your car is the one that inspired me to get my lil green beast done.

Yours forever Joe, building an LT1 is like joining a gang, no way out except in a box (Boxes as in you part it out).

Uhg. I'm about to put mine up for sale and I'm scared of what I can get for it. Have you had to deal with cletus and billy bob trying to come out and joy ride it?

You are asking 10k for an lt1 that is highly modded and nearly 20 years old. Part it out if you want close to that. Your demographic doesn't have 10k to buy it.

You won't get ****. No one wants an f-body. Especially a modified one. If anyone wants to drive it then they need asking price cash in hand. If not, they ride bitch and no, Cletus' buddy can not come along.

Which is stupid because it would be pretty hard to replicate this car for that much. People don't realize that for some reason. This is well worth the money for a fast car.

Exactly, Joe's car is built nice and runs a number. If some one was looking to do a similar build it makes a lot of sense to swap drive trains with their bolt on or what ever set up and sell his car with the stock stuff. You can still get $4K I bet for it stock, then you get the 383, built trans and 9" for $5,500. You would be in that for the long block alone.

The real problem is that someone can get a decent c5 for a little bit more than that. The demographic is what kills this sale. I've always known that I will never get anything more than BB for anything I mod, so I know that ill part it out if I want any more than that. sorry joe it really is a great deal. Maybe a wealthy kid will pick this up. Do you ever drive it around with a for sale sign on it?

You really really really need some pics and more advertising (other forums, craigslist, ebay, etc). There's no problem with the car itself, it's already a steal.

Take it to some shows and I'm sure you'll get what you're asking. I'd buy it if I had that kind of money to spare.

Do you have 10k sitting in the bank for a car? Did you back in highschool? Did you play paycheck to paycheck, saving here and there for the more expensive mods? Are you going to take an unsecured loan out for a 20 year old modified car?

I agree putting it up on ebay will open up the audience to a potential buyer or two. A simple reserve will protect you from selling lower than you want. Be mindful of ebay fees though.

There are tons of idiots trying to peddle LS1 cars that are nearly stock for not that much less on craigslist. I browse the Philly, NJ, and DE area CLs all the time and I don't recall seeing your car once. The problem isn't with the car, it's the advertising. Of course it hasn't sold yet on the forums, half the people here think cast Eagle cranks, air foils, and Edelbrock intakes are good buys.

A 10 second car you can vouch for is worth every penny. If my turd didn't already eat my wallet I'd be all over that.

I know there are plenty of idiots out there who will offer half of what you're asking or try to haggle. Put it up for $12k and you'll probably get close to what you're asking now. Sure as hell beats hanging around a dying forum for an infamous and forgotten motor nobody cares about in the year 2014.

CL will hook you up with some trust fund babies.

Someone vandalized my 94 Z28, they did $4400 bucks worth of damage. Slashed tires, Slashed convertible top, all body panels scratched. It was just some kids that did that. At that point I decided it was time to dump the car, fully forged 396CI, Moser 12 bolt, RPM T-56 transmission, all the best **** you could get.

I got restitution from the kid's parents for $4400, sold the intake, motor, transmission, all the aftermarket **** like K-members and a-arms, coil overs. I made way more money that way, if I would have tried to sell it even before the damage I doubt I could have gotten 5K for it.

Plus I put that 396LT1 in the race car and ran 9s on motor and 8.9s on a 100 shot and 8.6 on a 150 shot. I'm sure I could have gone further with it.

I'll never buy another LT1 though, I've had my fun with them. Hopefully in 20 years I won't get all nostalgic and try to build one again.
