Well it's not a LS engine. It's a completely new engine, that's why they changed the name of it. Pretty sure there's nothing fancy about the LS motor either. The engine on the other hand is pretty cool.

Gotta love the old hard-core LTx guys.
Pound for pound, dollar for dollar, hp for hp. Guess what I'm swapping in the ImpSS.
Just picked up 2 complete LQ4's for $900 (both).

My current setup on the LTx 383 is pretty stout and just barely over 400rwhp. One of the 6.0s going in my sons Firebird will be very mildly modded. LQ9 pistons/rods and a small cam with all the bolt-ons. Will easily lay down over 400.
The ImpSS will be getting all the good stuff. The BTR recipe I'm looking at is over 550rwhp and very streetable. Perfect for a garage queen that only sees sunny days and Sat. night track visits.

The LT will just be getting crated and pushed off over in the corner.

That's funny. My LT1 355 build isn't considered weak or wild. But put down 414rwhp and I never peaked it on the dyno. There's definitely more left in it. But, I agree the LSx would've put down more power for the coin.
