quick question about ewp wiring!

Default quick question about ewp wiring!

I have my meziere in the car from long ago and I had it wired it to the inginiton fuse so when the key is on the ignition the pump will kick. Now I got me this small lighweight battery (duralast etx16) from autozone and I dont like the idea of having my car with the key on and the pump drawing power. I want to have it on while the engine is running. which fuse or wire pf the fuse box I can utilize?

Did you remove your air pump? If so, you could use that circuit and tune it to come on as soon as the engine is on.

The air pump shuts off after a few minutes of running. Is it possible to change when the PCM triggers it in the .bin? Don't recall seeing anything but I'm not sure if the free software I use (tunerpro) goes that in-depth.

I used the AIR pump relay but wired ON as the trigger which is what you already have. When I need to load a tune or keep it in the ON position for a prolonged period of time I just pull the relay from the fuse box.

Maybe use the fuel pump instead? The EWP would only run when it primes and with the engine running.

Good points regarding the air pump. Good idea with the fuel pump to. Use the fuel pump power as the relay signal to the water pump. Should work. And no tuning required.

yeah air pump is gone long time ago. I think I may use the fuel pump signal instead!

you should use a "hot while key on" wire to trigger a relay wired direct to a 12 v source like the AUX post on the underhood relay/fuse panel. Also with a inline fuse.

His first post said that is what he doesn't want. He wants it on only when the engine is.

Run a ABS relay
tap the fuel pump hot for the activation.
Hard wire the water pump hot and ground to the junction box on the passenger wheel well.
30 amp fuse is more than enough for the largest water pumps.
