LT1 Exhaust Manifold. I have a friend that used the 5.3 truck manifolds flipped upside down on his ls1 swapped s30 car and ran the exhaust out of the hood. Is there a similar way to do this with the lt1? will the exhaust manifolds on the LT1 work upside down? Or will the 5.3 truck manifolds work on the LT1?

not a whole lot of room in the front as well once I get the radiator and fans in there. The reason my buddy flipped his upside down was it was way cheaper to do that than buying the ridiculously expensive swap headers that are made to fit the chassis

No the 5.3L LS (Vortech) manifolds wont work.
I wouldn't flip them because they are "D" shaped ports. You would be blocking off some of the port. Some aftermarket headers for the LT1 are oval port, those you could flip.
Why not just get a cheap set of block huggers? They are like $100 from Summit.

Find out what small block Chevy headers work on Gen 2 rx7s and just run those.
tons of people have put sbc motors into those so there's obviously gonna be at least one brand that will fit

I know there is plenty of swap headers, but like I mentioned recently they are pretty pricey. I'm trying to find a practical cheap diy way to make the swap fit without dumping loads into the headers.
