you can do it but it protects your maf. they are $136 from any discount auto parts, so you tell me $136 or 1 hp?

Well... I decsreened my MAF and ported my housing a couple summers ago. I also just reinstalled a bone stock MAF two days ago. I have an M6 but I've heard on multiple occassions not to descreen those things on an A4. I can't say one thing or another about a stock one vs. a ported one/descreened but the consensus seems to be to leave them alone. I bought a stocker because I was advised that my ported unit could be an element in my tuning problems!

yeah i didnt think the gain would be big.. but i wasnt sure if it hurt my car either.. i just see SO many people with descreened MAF in there sig. so i was wondering if it actually was worth trying or not.

Ya, I've been told that its WAY easier to tune, with a "virgin" MAF, than it is a ported/descreened one.

Don't touch the MAF. It's not worth potentially screwing it up.
