That means you have 15psi in the tubing from blower to intercooler
(Where the valve is)

So thus the 10psi of pressure in your manifold, can't hold back the 15psi on the valve. (And it cracks open)

These are totally example numbers. But the idea is there, you want to least amount of delta pressure as possible.
Just tossing this out there. On my car the Bypass is after the intercooler, is it recommended to be before?

Mine is after the IC too, ebay 4" IC and I've seen in excess of 20psi but once I worn the valve guides and stuff would only see 11-14. LOL I was told to use the BPV after the IC as well.

Could be your issue Steve.

I hope not, this motor has about 900-1000 miles on it. If the Valve guides or anything in this motor is worn to the point of replacement already I would be very disappointed. The car has been babied as I waited to dyno it.

Well I hope not either but if there is any solace. My 800-900 mile motor let go due to lifter failure among other things. That motor was 6yrs old! My valve guides and seals were gone and only had 60psi-80psi on all 8 cylinders, yeah they were washed (my fault) LOL I was still seeing anywhere from 11-14psi of boost. F series blowers move some air!

Not saying that was/is your problem, sure as hell hope not but moving the BPV will definitely give one less thing to eliminate and find the source.

Am I the only one that can watch your dyno vid?

I called Bullet racing cams today and they feel there is a mistake in the grind. They would like the cam to be a 242/256 114 lsa 626/608. (current cam 242/248 112 lsa 626/608)

They said the boost is going right out the exh due to the Lsa. I am a little annoyed as THEY spec'd it based on the combo and now I have a **** load of work in front of me to change it plus I have to buy another cam, or regrind, because of their mistake. I specifically asked about the LSA when I saw it and questioned it as I thought it was to tight. I was told the cam should be excellent for the combo and not to worry. They are willing to regrind the cam for $125 or purchase another @WD for $310

I am going to check all the things previously mentioned but the person at Bullet Racing said the cam is not optimal IE WRONG, for the combination.

Needless to say I am disappointed and a little steamed about this... I may call and speak to another company to see if they both say the same thing.

Any recommendations?

Steve

I'd be angry about that, too - if they spec'd the cam, then later tell you the spec is wrong but you have to pay to get it corrected! That is some BS right there. One thing is that I wouldn't give them another dime for a regrind or new cam; I'd go somewhere else. Then sell your cam for whatever you can get for it or make a lamp out of it or something.

Totally agree with Kevin on that. That's foul, I'll give em' a plus for owning up but make it right. They need to fix that on their dime. Damn dude, that blows...

I will be calling them again on Monday, I am going to speak to the owner John to see what he is willing to do.

I spoke to Comp Cams and they spec'd a cam similar to what Bullet said to use. So I have proof that the cam is wrong by them and Comp Cams.

Bullet Cams said to use (242/256 114 lsa .626/.608)

Comp Cams said to use (246/256 114 lsa .637/.601)

I just read this whole thread and find it incredibly interesting. I wish I were as smart and understood supercharging and all that goes along with it like some of you guys do.
Whatever happened with this? It dropped off right when it got interesting, like a bad ending to a great movie, lol!

I parked the car and it has sat under the car cover every since. I have only taken the car out for pictures and to make sure it still runs haha.

I started school again and had a little guy coming which killed all my free time. The car was disappointing and I have just lost the drive to keep messing with it. Now that the weather is cooler and I can do something with it again. I would like to see what I can do to get it right and make the power that it should. I'd just like to have a low 9 sec street car with a parachute hanging off the back lol. Is that too much to ask?!

I completely understand, brother. It happened to me as well. Nearly 7yr old little girl and a 4 month old son. It changes everything! I do hope to see you get your car right brother. You're doing exactly what I'd like to do.

Been there and have done that! I had a block, pistons, forged crank, H beam rods and AFR heads for a build.....until the first kid. Now that I had 2 kids, make less money and had less time, that's all gone. I'm still just lucky I still had my car!

Ouch, such a waste to be sitting there not busting Cobras asses and what not...I would contact a LT1 specialist like Tick/LE/AI to get your cam specced for such a high end build....contacting "Billy Bob" over at Bullet racing cams or a random Comp Cam tech is where you went wrong IMO. Best of luck! Unfortunately you can't give LT1's away anymore as far a resale is concerned....

Well "Billy Bob" is who AFR said to contact at Bullet Racing Cams as there were supposed to know their stuff. Apparently that was not the case.

This car will be finished one day, just not today. I have had for 19 years so its not going anywhere. If I cant get this setup to work right I will part the motor and blower setup and got LSX Turbo.

I know of Tick Performance, Lloyd Elliot ported the intake, but who is AI?

No there is a little guy that got here last week that may want it so I am going to keep it around for him

I did sell the Mystichrome vert and bought a Tahoe. The Comp Orange Cobra is going to be super tough to let go of

Advanced Induction, they make their own custom grinds; or just get LE custom cam since you bought an intake from him.
