Cracked windsheild!!!

Guys trying to get my 97 z28 back on the road after letting it sit for almost 2 years. Anyway went and looked and my damn windshield is cracked!!! I took the insurance off the car and someone told me today that it is about 1,200 to replace it. Pleasssssseeeeeeeee tell me that is not the truth.

Lol I would hope not, my brother just did a windshield in a 2011 BMW with a rain sensor for $350. I need one in my 94 z28 soon but if it cost 1,200 I'll part the **** out.

There is no way that windshield costs that much.... Should be no more than $400. And I think that's pushing it.

Just called..safelite 185 dollars if I take it to them, and if they come to me will be 30 more.

I've had to replace the windshield in this car a few times, most expensive I think was $220 installed.

Coincidentally, I called today on a couple different cars. They all ranged from $200-230 new installed.

My firebird's rear hatch has some deep scratches in the glass from the previous owner, so I got a replacement quote from them while I was on the phone. Their response was "are you sitting down? $600 new installed." When someone that does quotes for a living thinks $600 is astronomically high (for a lower production part with rear defrost at that) that should tell you something about your $1200 estimate lol
