Default True dual fabrication

So I just finished installing my longtubes and y pipe and just decided to run true duals, so i go to a billion muffler shops and they all say the same thing that it cant be done. I mean they dont even try to make an attempt. Im really just ranting about how most muffler shops in general dont want to do any kind of fabricating work at all, they just want to cut out old mufflers and weld in new mufflers. So now I have a winter project of making my own true duals using a universal x pipe system. Any tips from anyone that has made their own true dual system at home are welcome.I will be buying a welder as well and would like any recommendations on what brand and type to get as well. Thanks for reading.

Any good exhaust shop shouldn't have a problem doing that. .. I had a universal x welded in my car and everything out the door for 225 bucks. .. and I bought the X and bullets... If you want pics for ideas let me know.... I wouldn't attempt the job yourself

If all you want is a universal X with dumps then you'll have no problems. Duals over the axle is where it gets expensive.

I don't have duals on my car but I fabbed up an X pipe with dumps for my friend's Roadmaster. I got the fit right with some cutting, marked everything up, and tack welded it with a cheapo HFT flux welder. Then took it to an exhaust shop to get it welded completely because my welder blows.

Looks good Kyle, isn't that the TA cross member made for duals?

A lot can be done with a 4" electric cut off wheel, tape measure, cheap welder and some bends.

I see some sections of straight pipe, 2 45* bends before axle, 2 90* bends over axle and some misc. bends depending how you want it to exit out the back.

Summit x pipe, slip on header extension, dump turn downs, 3 inch exhaust straight tubing, and 2 magnaflow mufflers is what i have. It tucks pretty nice for being homemade
