Default Dropping in the New 383

Im installing my motor from the top with the hood off and transmission out of the car entirely, should i drop the motor in with the headers already bolted onto the heads or mount the motor to the motor mounts then install the headers?
Has anyone done it with the headers already bolted on?

You might be able to do it with the headers on, but I wouldn't. It's way easier to get it in without them as they will hit the k member as you lower it in unless you use the trans as a counterweight to get the motor to go in vertically. Without the headers or any front accessories you can put the engine in 90 degrees rotated and then rotate it and slide it back under the cowel.

I have a question. Not jacking the thread or anything but I currently have hood off the car and I am wanting to drop the pan so I can weld a fitting onto it (turbo drain back). I have a BMR K member. Do you think I can raise the motor enough with intake still attached to remove the pan for like an hour or two?

Ive never tried it but u may be able to. You could drop kmember with cherry picker hooked up to the motor.

Okay, i planned on dropping motor in without the intake attached also but while i basically have it in the bay should i attach the headers with it still attached to the hoist or mount it to the motor mounts and then install the headers? granite there is literally nothing in my engine bay, front nose cone, radiator and everything is out.

Don't mean to rain on your parade here but I've hade very bad luck with another rocker that looked extremely close to those. I believe mine were comp though. Tey look almost identical besides the color.

Anyway, after a few months on the motor, one of the bearings wiggles its way out of the rocker body and dumped the needles everywhere. I'd look into getting some that have snap rings holding the bearings in. I now have Comp Ultra Pro Mags ands couldnt be happier
