Can you clearify why you also said this?

All I've done as of now is bypass the tcs box with a resistor so my abs still works. I've read that you need a throttle cable and cruise control cable from a non tcs car so that you can keep cruise control. I have both cables from a non tcs car. I just haven't installed them yet. I can't say for sure if the cruise control will still work because I haven't tried it yet.

IIRC the end that connects to the throttle body is different. There was something else was different also, but I cant remember what.

I finally got around to installing my non tcs throttle and cruise cables. The throttle cable was pretty easy. The cruise cable was a pain. Went for a drive and my cruise control still works. Both cables connected to my throttle body without a single issue. Now I don't have to look at that box on my valve cover anymore.

Yes. If you dont mind having your tcs/abs inop light on. If you want your abs to still function and no lights on the dash you need a resistor to put in the harness.

Non functioning ABS is a lot more dangerous than not having it because the ABS controller also controls the brake bias. SJM Manufacturing makes a kit, or used to with a prop valve, a line-lock, lines, and a flaring tool. I decided to do mine that way when my ABS/ASR controller went out. Also, there's a way to get that light to come off. It's been a long time since I did mine, but I think it was just a resistor added to ABS board behind the kick panel.

No, it doesn't. The internal metering block does, which is not controlled in any way. The motors control the cycling function to each individual wheel. With ABS disabled, it's just like driving with regular brakes, except now they will lock up. I drove for a year with ABS disabled on my truck before finally getting the ABS module fixed, and I never had an issue with bias.

To answer all your questions OP, the cruise module is the same between ASR/non-ASR cars. For cruise control to work after removing the module, a non-ASR (or TCS for Pontiac) is necessary. However, your throttle will work absolutely fine with only the throttle cable installed. So yes, you can put it in later.

To get rid of the light associated with unplugging that ugly module, you'll simply need a resistor that matches the resistance of the servo motor. Just measure the resistance of yours and plug a matching resistor into the two pins of the servo harness. IIRC, it was 2.2 ohms on mine, but that was a very long time ago.
