Default misfire or lugging or..?

When I'm at full operating temp (or close to) my car feels like it's either slightly misfiring or lugging when I'm on the footbrake at a stop-light or stop-sign. If i put the car in neutral the feeling goes away. It's almost imperceptible to notice and doesn't effect drivability at all. my car is throwing zero codes. is this blow-by or something? car has 207K miles, mods in sig

Its a bitch but compression test each cyl. At 207k wouldn't be a bit surprised to see a cyl or two below (or WAY below) the 10% threshold. Weak cyl would show at low RPM. Maybe a weak lifter or two as well, less oil pressure at idle...

check your brake booster line located, drivers side on the firewall, listen or feel for any vacuum leaks coming from the hose. But first off check too see if its loose, i know it sounds silly but i had a weird sorta springy idle feel and my brake booster line was just loose!

If your lifters are fine, don't replace them. Your going to put a cam in a 207k mile motor without checking compression to see if its healthy? I really would not expect a 200k mile motor to last long at higher rpm than stock, and if you are doing a cam you have to shift it high enough to make all the power, even stock cam likes 6300 shifts for best 1/4 times. I'd grab a case of beer and check compression first, then if not perfect, get a used < 100k motor for $400 or do mild rebuild with stock crank and rods and your probably going to have to go at least 0.010, might as well go 0.030, 200k is a lot of miles and I doubt the cylinders are still perfectly round.
