Default Headers?

I have a 97 Z28 that already had a Borla catback exhaust on it when I bought it and now I'm looking to put some headers on it. I'm looking for something that will produce a really loud and mean sounding growl. Any advice on which long tube headers sound the meanest?

Doesn't matter on the headers, its what you have after, you want loud, run bullets after the header..

The y-pipe can have a larger effect than the actual headers when it comes to sound.

Buy any header based on fitment and ground clearance. Then custom make a Y pipe with a proper merge mated to your Borla CB. Done.

Appreciate the advice guys, so let me rephrase question then which headers have best fitment and clearance I've read quite a few times that Pacesetters and Hookers are the easiest to install and have no issues on clearance.

They are all basically the same, most of the name brand companies have decent quality. Fitment issues can come from sagging motor mounts.

Pacesetter, Kooks, Hooker, Dynatech, OBX etc etc are all decent choices.

I would also look into primary pipe routing differences between the brands. My PS headers look like they fit fine. I bought my car with them installed, but they don't hit anything lol. BUT, they are all rusty down by the collector so we will see how much longer they last.

I mention pipe routing due to spark plug access ability.
