I paid like $40 for a new ignition and door key when my Dad threw my old ones out with the trash.
If you have T Tops you can pry the window back and unlatch a T Top and then reach down. Even on my Hard Top Z28, I could pull the window back and reach down. Wasn't the most comfortable thing ever but it worked. Also check to see if your newly acquired door key works on passenger side, trunk, and T Tops.

guys, first of all I know the difference between a door key and ignition key lol. the cost of the physical key itself was $3. the cost to acquire the information from GM to match the key to my VIN was $75, as I never had an original door key. Since that service is considered a special order, no refund. And it doesn't work on either door, t-top, or hatch. F dealerships
